  • What does it mean to be a GAF Master Elite Installer?
    In order for a roofing contractor to be qualified as a GAF Master Elite installer, they must meet all of the rigorous criteria that GAF has set. Only about 3 % of the roofing contractors in the United States are able to achieve this status, Pearson Roofing has met and exceeded these criteria and maintained it for years, which means that we are able to offer our customers the best material warranty available.
  • How do I choose the best Roofing Contractor?
    You have the privilege of choosing the roofing company in whom you have the most confidence. Even if you get recommendations from various sources, it is your responsibility to research the companies. You do not have to go with the lowest bid, which is what your insurance company would like you to believe. Remember, an inexpensive roof is no bargain if you have problems, especially if your contractor is no longer around to honor the labor warranty. Be sure the company you choose is reputable, and local. Contact the Better Business Bureau to find out how long they have been in business. The contractor you choose should have at least ten years experience locally.
  • Is Pearson Roofing a member of The Better Business Bureau?

  • If I choose to use financing, what can I use it for?"
    You can use your financing for any and all parts of your project. Some of the most common items our customers use financing for include: Deductibles Shingle upgrades Improvements not covered in their insurance claim
  • What does it mean to be a Google Guaranteed contractor?
    A contractor that is Google Guaranteed has passed all of Google’s extensive background screenings, is a verified, reputable contractor, and Google will offer consumers a “satifaction guarantee”. If you’re not satisfied with the work completed, Google will cover the amount of the invoice up to $2,000.00.
  • Can I inspect my own roof?
    Although a homeowner can easily recognize missing or torn shingles, there are many other signs of damage that you may not know to look for. Having a professional like Pearson Roofing inspect your roof is not only safer for you, but we can also detect damages that are not easily seen by the untrained eye.
  • What will an inspector look for to determine damage?
    Some of the most common items that our inspectors look for are: Missing or damaged shingles Damaged flashing Signs of aging Signs of water damage
  • What if my inspector finds damages?
    If we determine that your roof is damaged, we will inform you of what we’ve found, and recommend the best and most cost-effective approach to make the necessary repairs.
  • Can I repair my roof myself?
    We highly advise against trying to repair your own roof. Not only is it dangerous, but there are a number of things that you could be missing that only a trained professional will notice. Also, if you’re not experienced, you could cause even more damage.
  • Will my insurance company cover my repair?
    In some cases, yes. However, in most cases, a roof repair cost is less than your deductible, and will not be worth filing a claim on your policy. We understand that unplanned expenses can be stressful! Pearson Roofing has financing options available if the repair cost is outside of your budget.
  • How long will my roof repair take?
    Our experts can usually complete roof repairs within a couple of hours.
  • How long should my roof last?
    With proper maintenance, and regular inspections, a typical roof will last about 20 years, but a damaging hail or wind storm can drastically harm your roof at any age.
  • How long does it take to replace a roof?
    In most cases, Pearson Roofing can complete the removal and installation of your new roof in just one day!
  • Can I upgrade my shingles?
    Absolutely! Your insurance company may only pay you for the current shingle that you have, but we have a couple of options available if you prefer an upgraded shingle. Ask your Pearson Roofing representative how!
  • What are the main indicators that my gutters need to be replaced?
    Holes or cracks in gutters Sagging in gutters Puddling at your foundation under gutters
  • What kind of gutters are the best?
    The majority of gutters that we install are seamless aluminum. Not only are they cost effective, but they’re light, wont rust, and can withstand extreme temperatures.
  • Can I install my own gutter system?
    To ensure your safety and proper installation, we advise that you hire a professional to install your gutters.
  • Can a hail storm damage the seals around my windows?
    Yes, wind-driven hail can damage the glass, beading, and screens of your windows.
  • Will my insurance company cover my window repairs?
    If your home was damaged by a storm, in most cases, your windows are covered in your insurance policy.
  • If my window's glass is broken, will I need to replace the entire window?"
    Not necissarily. In most cases, our experts can install replacement glass as opposed to replacing an entire window.
  • When is the best time of year to have my house painted?
    We recommend exterior painting when the temperature of over 50 degrees. In Texas, that could be Spring, Summer, or Fall.
  • What brands of paint do you use?
    Pearson Roofing’s painting experts typically use high-quality Sherwin Williams unless otherwise requested by our customers.
  • Is Pearson Roofing insured?
    Yes, Pearson Roofing is fully bonded and insured.
  • What are rhe most common types of siding?
    In the Dallas / Fort Worth area vinyl siding and cement hardie siding are the 2 most commonly used. Pearson Roofing highly recommends Cement / Hardie siding, as it is more durable than vinyl and has a longer manufacturer’s warranty.
  • How do I know if my siding needs to be replaced?
    Rotting or warping Mold Cracks or holes Higher than normal electric bills Fading or peeling
  • What is the average lifespan of siding?
    Different materials will vary in longevity, but higher quality siding such as James Hardie can last up to 30 years.
  • What are the most obvious signs that my fence should be replaced?
    Leaning or sagging Collapsing or missing panels Splintering wood Rotting wood Missing nails or screws
  • Will I need a permit to repair or replace my fence?
    Whether or not you’ll need a permit depends on the city. Pearson Roofing’s fencing pros know which cities will require a permit, and we will pull it in advance as part of our service to you.
  • Am I required to use the contractor that my insurance company has recommended?
    In the state of Texas, you are NOT obligated to use the contractor that your insurance company has recommended.
  • What if I find additional damages that my insurance adjuster did not include in my claim?
    Pearson roofing can submit the required documentation to supplement the missing items on your behalf. Once approved, your adjuster will then add the cost of repairing those damages to your claim.
  • When can I schedule the repairs in my claim?
    Once your adjuster has provided you with settlement paperwork, you may begin working with a contractor as soon as you please.
  • Which types of commercial roofing systems does Pearson Roofing install?
    The most common include TPO, modified bitumen, metal standing seam, and copper. Our installers are experienced and qualified in other types as well.
  • Why is it so important to contract a company that is experienced in commercial roofing?
    Most commercial roofing systems are considered specialty roofing, and not all roofing contractors are qualified to install them. When installing TPO, modified bitumen, or metal roofs, it’s imperative that materials are installed according to the manufacturer’s specifications. This can greatly determine the lifespan and warranty of your roof.
  • Will my new commercial roof come with a warranty?
    Pearson Roofing always guarantees our work with warranties that vary depending on the materials that we install. Our experience in installation specifications will also ensure that you will be eligible for your manufacturer’s warranty, which will also vary based on materials.
  • How often should I have my commercial roof inspected?
    In order to ensure the longevity of your commercial roofing system, Pearson Roofing suggests having it inspected by a professional seasonally.
  • What should I do if my commercial roof is leaking?
    The first step you should take if your roof is leaking is to try and stop the water with a bucket immediately. The next crucial step is to call Pearson Roofing.
  • What is the life expectancy of a TPO roofing system?
    With proper maintenance, TPO has a life expectancy of 25-30 years.
  • What is the difference between TPO and EPDM roofing systems?
    TPO is lighter and reflects sunlight making it more energy-efficient. EPDM is a darker material and absorbs more heat.
  • What is the life expectancy of a modified bitumen roofing system?
    With proper maintenance, a modified bitumen roofing system has a life expectancy of about 20 years.
  • Can a modified bitumen roof be repaired?
    Yes – modified bitumen materials can be repaired in sections with a patch.
  • How do metal roofs stand up to hail?
    Many metal roofing products are considered "Class 4", which means they are highly impact resistant. Additionally, most insurance companies offer policy discounts for investing in a metal roof.
  • Do metal roofing systems make your home more susceptible to lightning?
    No, a metal roof does not pose a greater threat to a home to be struck by lightning.
  • What is the life expectancy copper?
    Copper has a life expectancy of about 50 years on your home’s exterior.
  • Does copper require a lot of maintenance?
    In most cases, copper requires no maintenance. Some prefer to occasionally clean it, but it’s not necessary.
  • Will a copper roof rust?
    Copper will not rust, though it does form a patina that many homeowners love.
